Pariente Verdeljo 2016

If you have ever been hesitant to try this Spanish variety now is the time to say “Hello” to Verdejo! This traditional grape of the Rueda region of Spain is revered for its vibrant aromatics and there’s no disappointment here. Dry and medium lemon in colour, profound aromas of lime, apricot, grapefruit, green apple and white flower greet you as you raise the glass. On the palate, intense flavours of nectarine, green apple, citrus, ginger and some hints of wet stone minerality dance around and delight. A very good expression that can be enjoyed now or kept for up to 3 years. Energetic enough to be appreciated on its own it would also pair lovely with thin strips of Serrano ham.
